Learn To Ballroom Dance At Home. OK so you may be a little shy to start learning at a dance school, you might want to polish up your skills before you go to that dance that you’ve promised, or you simply want to save some money on live ballroom dance lessons and you’ve decided that you want to learn to ballroom dance at home.
Well, I got myself into a predicament when I told my partner that everything that they were doing on Dancing with the Stars was easy. Anybody could do it, right? Wrong! Learning to dance ballroom is quite tricky. Just look at the work the celebrities have to put in for their weekly dance. It’s far from easy. It’s technical and it’s a work out.
However, when my partner suggested that we should go out to dance school and try out the local ballroom dancing classes, I bottled it. There was absolutely no way I was going into a public place to make a fool of myself. I knew she was really keen for me to go but I knew that I had to get at least the basics before I hit a real live ballroom, even if it would be filled with beginners.
So I searched online for ‘Learn to Dance Ballroom at Home’ and came across a few fuddy duddy sites that had videos like they had come from the ’70s. I wanted something funky and fresh. Something lively and up-to-date. So I started looking to see if any of the Dancing With The Stars celebrities had made anything that would pass as online ballroom lessons or some kind of learn from home ballroom classes.
Quite quickly I came across Louis Van Amstel’s Learn to Dance Ballroom videos. These seemed to be exactly what I needed and the price was easily reasonable. Definitely worth the cost to ensure that I wouldn’t embarrass myself when it came to taking the real lessons that my other half had set her heart on.
Quite simply, when it came to the big day, I danced half the room out of the ballroom and many of them had good experience. All from a few hours after work or at the weekends with Louis Van Amstel on the big screen showing me exactly step-by-step. Along with my partner he managed to teach me how to cha cha, I learned how to foxtrot and even took it further by learning to dance salsa at home.
Another great thing I noticed. It got me in shape after the Christmas binge. Now we go dancing every weekend but I still get the videos out or connect the PC to the TV to revisit Louis’ best dance lessons on the TV. Give it a go!

The judges are even being passed back and forth over the pond as the shows start to take on more international significance.
